Obituary
Martha Lee Peterson, 75 of 2118 Saratoga Ave., S.W., Warren departed this life Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 3:20 p.m. at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 29, 1934 in Greenville, AL the daughter of Morgan and Essie Lee Lewis Bennett, coming to the area 60 years ago.
Mrs. Peterson was employed with the Enrichment Center for 48 years as a Rehabilitation Aide, before retiring Dec. 11, 2009.
She was a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church, where she belonged to the Nurses Guild, Kitchen Committee, Usher Board and enjoyed gardening, cooking and embroidering. She was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School.
She leaves to mourn 5 sons, Bobbie Peterson of Warren; James (Barbara) Peterson of Syracuse, NY, John Peterson and Mallory Peterson both of Warren, and Frederick (Colette) Peterson of Columbus; 1 daughter, Ms. Corine Taylor of Warren; 3 brothers, Jacob E. (Diane) Bennett, William L. (Minnie) Bennett and Joe Jackson all of Warren; 21 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister, Honer Jackson.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Second Baptist Church. Calling Hours will be held Monday, June 7th from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at New Fellowship Baptist Church. Burial at Pineview Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
