Obituary          

Mary Elizabeth Burgess, 71 of 202 Washington Ave., N.W., Warren, OH departed this life Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 7:15 a.m. at Washington Square Health Care Center following an extended illness. 

She was born October 4, 1938 in Warren, OH, the daughter of Wayne and Cleo Brogdon Parks Sr.

Mrs. Burgess was employed with St. Joseph Riverside Hospital for 22 years as a Nurses Aide, before retiring in 2000. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and drawing.

She was a 1956 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School.

She leaves to mourn , 1 son, Kit A. Burgess of Sterling Heights, MI; 3 daughters, Ms. Evelyn M. Parks, Ms. Carmia A. Nettles, and Ms. Carmelita J. Nettles all of Warren; 1 brother, Wayne (Sadie) Parks Jr. of Warren; 2 sisters, Ms. Evelyn M. Humphrey and Mrs. Phyllis M. Davis both of Warren; 3 grandsons, Jordan Parks, Antonio Ray and Brandon Nettles all of Warren; 2 great grandchildren, Miss DaVonna Nettles and Miss Cherron Nettles; and a host of relatives and friends

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Frank E. Parks.

Memorial Services will be held Monday, January 18, 2010 at 12:00 noon at the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Chapel.
