Mamie Davis, 89 of 1342 Baker Avenue, Warren departed this life Sunday, February, 7, 2010 at 9:34 a.m. at Coshocton Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born August 28, 1920 in Leary, GA, the daughter of William and Viola Kelson Collins, residing in the Warren area since 1923.

Mrs. Davis was employed with the Vienna Arsenal for 5 years as a Checker.

She was a member of Supreme Council House of Jacob, where she was the Church Mother, Secretary for many years, Chairwomen of the Central Banking System and enjoyed making quilts, knitting and canning. She was a 1939 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. 

She married Jesse Davis Jr. April 25, 1948, he died July 25, 1975

She leaves to mourn 1 son, Benjamin Davis of Warren; 2 daughters, Keturah Davis and Crystal E. Davis both of Warren; 1 brother, Bishop Jake Daniel Collins of Coshocton; 2 sisters, Lillian A. Collins and Bertilla Collins both of Coshocton; 3 grandchildren, Antwan J. Davis and Aliyah C. Rollins both of Warren and Rolanda Smith of Columbus; 1 great grandchild, Makayla M. Smith of Columbus and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Supreme Council House of Jacob. Calling Hours: one hour prior to services (10:00-11:00 a.m.). Burial at Oakwood Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at 1342 Baker Ave., the home of her daughter, Keturah Davis.

Arrangements were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
