Obituary          

Lula M. Lee, 87 of 202 Washington St., NW, Warren departed this life Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 6:50 p.m. at Washington Square Nursing Home following an extended illness.

She was born August 28, 1922 in Tuscaloosa, AL, the daughter of Lewis M. and Sadie Washington Foster, residing in the area for 60 years.

Mrs. Lee was employed with Warren Metropolitan Housing Authority for 31 years as a Cashier and Manager, retiring in 1984. She also worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, inspecting planes and the Ravenna Arsenal, building bombs. She was a 1940 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and graduated from Wilberforce University, Trumbull Business College and Penn Business School.

She was a life long member of  Third Christian Church Disciples of Christ, where she sang in the Choir, Usher Board, Missionary Society, Clerk and enjoyed sewing, writing and helping others. 

She leaves to mourn 1 daughter, Freda Lee Harper Jackson of Warren; 1 brother, Samuel L. Foster of Warren; 5 grandchildren, Tanya Lee-Allen, Sherri Woods, Matthew Todd Harper, Christine Jackson Code, and Maurice Jackson; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Services will be held Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Third Christian Church Disciples of Christ. A family visitation will be held one hour prior to services (11:00 a.m-12:00 p.m.).

Family will receive friends at 1415 Blakely Circle, S.W., Unit 704, the home of her daughter, Freda Lee Harper Jackson.
