Obituary          

Jerry John Baldridge Sr., 71 of 1776 Jefferson St., S.W., Warren, departed this life Monday, May 10, 2010 at 5 pm at Community Skilled Nursing Home following an extended illness.

He was born January 1, 1939 in Warren, OH, the son of Jack and Helen Keith Baldridge. He resided several years in New York before returning in 1966.

Mr. Baldridge was employed with General Motors Lordstown for 28 years as an Assembler, before retiring in 1995.

He was of the Apostolic Faith, member of UAW Local 1112 and enjoyed fishing, sports and especially the Indianapolis Colts.

He married the former Viola Scott March 11, 1972.

Besides his wife of Warren, he leaves to mourn 6 sons, Darren S. Caffie of Warren, Lamar Mickey of Houston, TX, Vincent Allen of Warren, Jeffrey Owens of California, Jerry J. Baldridge Jr. of Syracuse, NY and Andre T. (Channeeka) Baldridge of Warren; his mother, Helen Anglin of Lexington, SC; 2 sisters, Marvella Parker of California and Greta Avery of Lexington, SC; many grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack; 1 daughter, Vernice Scott; 1 brother, Richard Baldridge; 1 sister, Hiawathia Godett and 1 grandson, Jon’te Baldridge.

Calling Hours will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Chapel.

Family will receive friends at 1776 Jefferson St., S.W., the home of his wife, Viola Baldridge.
