Edmund “Eddie” Prayor Sr., 65, of 1141 Alameda Ave., Youngstown, departed this life Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 11:35 p.m. at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 17, 1943 in Youngstown, the son of Albert and Edna Johnson Prayor.
Mr. Prayor was employed at Packard Electric for 35 years as a Wire Cutter, before retiring in Jan. 1999. After retirement, he was a Drug and Alcohol Counselor, as well as, a Volunteer at many recovery centers in Youngstown, Warren and the PA area.
He was a member of St. Casimir’s Church, board member of the Addiction Programs of Mahoning County, charter member of the Ebony Lifeline Support Group, IEU Local 717 and a die hard Cleveland Browns and Indians fan.
He was in the U.S. Navy for 6 years serving in Vietnam, receiving several honors. 
He married Patsy Mattison Prayor June 1, 1974, she died Jan. 27, 1998.
He leaves to mourn one son, Edmund H. Prayor Jr. of South Plainfield, NJ; 3 daughters, Holli D. Garner of South Plainfield, NJ, Yvette R. Prayor of Worcester, Mass. And Natalie D. Prayor of Leetonia, OH; 1 brother, Albert (Annette) Prayor Jr. of Chicago, IL; 1 sister, Frances Singleton of Youngstown; 2 grandsons, Dontae Johnson of South Plainfield, NJ and Reginald Williams of Worcester, Mass; and host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Casimir’s Church. Calling Hours: Friday, May 21, 2010 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Sterling-McCullough Williams Youngstown Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park.
