Obituary          

Evelyn Jean Bryant Elkins, 70 of Harvard Drive, S.E., Warren departed this life Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 10:16 p.m. at Select Speciality Hospital following complications from an injury.

She was born Aug. 25, 1939 in Warren, OH, the daughter of Joseph R. and Lillie Sarah Rainey Bryant.

Mrs. Elkins was employed with General Motors Packard Electric Division for 30 years as an Assembler, before retiring in 1994. She was a 1957 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School.

She was a member of Firm Foundation Ministry, where she was a Charter Member, Mother of the church and Trustee, member of the NAACP, former Precinct Committee Women for the Trumbull County Democratic Party, I.U.E. Local 717 and enjoyed writing poems and shopping. She was one of the longest Dialysis patients, receiving dialysis for over 25 years.

She married Ronald Bernard Elkins Sr. Dec. 28, 1957, he died May 26, 2005.

She leaves to mourn 2 sons, Stanley A. (Patricia) Elkins of Braceville Twp., OH and Ronald Elkins Jr. of Atlanta, GA; 3 daughters, Ms. Sharon Elkins of Nashville, TN, Mrs. Vanessa (Tony) Elkins-Rogers of McDonough, GA, and Ms. Tami Elkins of Warren; mother, Lillie Sarah White of Warren; 2 brothers, Joseph R. (Geraldine) Bryant Jr. and Bruce (Angie) Davenport both of Warren; 4 sisters, Sandra (Harry) Pugh of Warren, Ms. Shirley Jones of Detroit, MI, Ms. Jeanne Baugh and Mrs. Linda (Phillip) Conyers both of Warren; 18 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 2, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at House of Prayer U.H.C. Calling Hours: one hour prior to services (12:00-1:00 p.m.). Burial at Pineview Memorial Park Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at 981 Braceville-Robinson Rd., Braceville Township, OH  44444.
