Obituary
Donald Robinson, 78, of 2154 Draper St., SE, Warren departed this life Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 10:41 p.m. at St. Joseph Eastland Medical Center following an extended illness.
He was born January 4, 1932 in Newton Falls, OH, the son of Clarence and Willie Freeman Robinson, coming to Warren 50 years ago.
Mr. Robinson was employed with Denman Rubber Company for 41 years as a Millman, before retiring Dec. 1991. He was a 1950 graduate of Braceville High School.
He was a member of the North Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses, URW Local 98 and enjoyed fishing, sports, and talking with people. He was the first Black player for the Youngstown Athletics as an Outfielder and Catcher.
He leaves to mourn 2 sisters, Mrs. Shirley Mitchell of Cleveland and Mrs. Faye Charleston of Youngstown; 1 grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sons, Tarrus and Dana Robinson; stepson, Timothy E. Miller; 5 brothers, Otto, Irwin L., Charles A., Earnest A. and Joseph L. Robinson and 1 sister, Mrs. Helen Bell.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the North Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. Calling Hours: one hour prior to service (12:00-1:00 p.m.). Burial at Oakwood Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at 2154 Draper St., S.E., Warren.
Professional services of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
